Thibault Degoussée and Oliver Fenwick presented the latest results on aligned polymers and halide perovskites at ECT2019 in Cyprus.
Author: organicthermoelectric
Lab visit
PhD student Kening Wan is visiting Dr. Juan José Vilatela’s group at IMDEA Materials Institute (Spain), funded by the MultiComp COST action.
Results presented to the UK parliament
PhD student Thibault Degousée presented his results at the STEM For Britain event in the Palace of Westminster. A number of MPs and policy members attended the event.
The event aims to present “ground-breaking” and frontier UK research and R&D to Members of both Houses of Parliament at Westminster and foster greater dialogue between early-stage researchers and Members both in Westminster and in their Constituencies.
Dr Vanira Trifiletti joins us
Dr Vanira Trifiletti has joined the Organic Thermoelectrics Laboratory as a Marie Skłodowska Curie Individual Fellow. Her 2-year fellowship will focus on the development of hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite thermoelectric materials.
Student presentation
Thibault Degousée gave a talk on “Thermoelectric properties of highly aligned polymers” at a CAM-IES meeting in Cambridge.
UK-China Partnership Forum in Thermoelectrics for Clean Energy
Dr Fenwick presented our latest results at the UK-China Partnership Forum in Thermoelectrics for Clean Energy held at Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xi’an, China.
Science on Tap!
Dr Fenwick delivers an outreach presentation in Xi’an, China, titled “Thermoelectrics: Powering the Future” in partnership with the British Embassy. Attendees saw a thermoelectric device in operation, explored heat sources using a thermal imaging camera, and handled plastic electronic devices.
Norrköping and Göteborg
Olly Fenwick is giving presentations on thermal conductivity and thermoelectricity in thin films at the Laboratory of Organic Electronics (Linköping University, 10/10/2018) and at the University of Gothenburg (11/10/2018). On the train between the two he’s been enjoying the Autumn colours of the Swedish forests.
Candidates for fellowships sought
We are now looking for postdoctoral candidates interested in applying for a 2-year Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship in our laboratory. If you are interested, please contact one of our group leaders directly. (Call deadline 12/09/2018 – contact us with expressions of interest by 31/07/2018)
